Saving for the Future

Goal Setting is a fundamental principle that we require in order to succeed in life. It is a way of thinking about one’s ideal future, and motivating one’s self to turn any desired vision of the future into reality. Personally, I believe that if one is able to set goals and actually stick to it, the opportunities offered by the world are endless.
For example, if someone was to tell me last year that I will be going to New York City for a holiday and to Britney Spears’s concert in VIP style, I would’ve been really annoyed at them for placing false and unattainable fantasies into my head.

Flash-forward twelve months to today, and guess what? These dreams I had for so long, are on its way to being fulfilled all in a matter of 5 months! April 2009 was when I decided that I will stop spending money unnecessarily, cut out all shopping, and work as much as possible. Yes it has been hard; there were days where I simply long to just spend the miserable ten dollars on just anything, but determination have kept me away from that.

It is now October 2009, I will be seeing Britney twice in two weeks time, and will be living large from my 8 months of hard work and sacrifice in New York City! Now blog buddies don’t you think that that is worth it? Perhaps try setting a semi-impossible goal and see if you are able to achieve it; with hard work and determination, you will be surprised by the results!

PS. This isn't somethin' that i just wrote cos i felt like it, actually had to do a blog for my portfolio regardin' savin for the future and goal settings.

Achievement...

My baby that I just created for Public Relations, in a span of five hours...
As you probably can tell, I'm pretty proud of my work. And for those of you that are rollin' your eyes at me cos I'm either being so obnoxious about it, or cos I'm not creative enough, well then FUCK YOU! Like whatever, I totally worked hard on it okay?
Here's my feature article on fashion. It's kind of crap though, due to the limited space and it being rushed as it is due in a few hours...still kind of original idea comparin' fashion to circus, no?

From the fashion runway to running away with the circus...

When one really should be assignmenting...

It is a common behaviour for all humans to procastinate anything they dread doing. So therefore with my ever increasing stack of assignments to complete, I have decided to ignore that nagging voice one has at the back of one's mind screaming "IT'S TIME TO START YOUR REPORT!", and proceed to update my blog. Nothing much to vent out today, so here's some crap for you to get your mind off studying for a few minutes.

Attained my first credit, (not debit) card ever, it's a black Bankwest Mastercard and I'm lovin' it. ♥

Celebrated my one month, from September 12, with J at Seizan Restaurant on Hay Street. We both opted for a 5 course-d dinner, Teppanyaki style; which includes: Salad, Tempura, Seafood, Vegetables, Steak and Fried Rice. Teppanyaki, for those of you that do not know, 'is a style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron girdle to cook food. The word "teppanyaki" is derived from teppan (鉄板), which means iron plate, and yaki (焼き), which means grilled, broiled or pan-fried.' (Wikipedia).

Teleflop?

The 2009 Telethon Weekend was, like previous years, held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. Along with my fellow colleagues we had to clock up a minimum twelve out of the twenty six hour-ed event. As usual being really povo, I managed to clock up a few more extra hours, up to sixteen as a matter of fact.

Standing up for the sixteen hours will get to anyone easily. Fatigue plus sore legs plus crazy psyco parents and screaming kids equals: "MOTHERF#%KING GET ME THE F#$K OUTTA HERE!!!" This might probably piss off a few readers but I honestly thought that the whole event, apart from ME making money, was a waste of time and completely unnecessary. By the end of the 2009 Telethon Weekend, the event only managed to raise up just past five million. Errr....Five million?...and $1.5 Million was from the Federal Government. WTF?! One would actually think that since our 'first world' nation is so rich, and mind you it is has the strongest economy globally at the momment in this recession, that our government and the people of Perth would be able to fork out more? I mean come on, like you have peeps like Michele Dolin of GESB (Some superannuation company) getting paid $530,000 after a recent $160,000 pay rise

Whatevs, in my eyes, Channel 7 should've just got all sponsors and directly transfer whatever funds they've gathered to Princess Margaret Hospital; because seriously at most, the people of Perth (excluding any organisations), would've donated about just under a million. Perhaps instead of wasting everyone's time, Channel 7 should have given the cash to PMH instead of wasting it on large amounts of advertising and hiring out the PCEC.

Oh and regarding the 'celebrities', that is a bigger WTF?! Like who the f$%k are they? Radio and TV personalities, in my opinion do not count as celebrities. Home and Away and Packed to the Rafters actors are barely even on the 'D' list if you compare them to the likes of Australian celebrities like Kylie Minogue, Hugh Jackman, and Nicole Kidman. These are the real celebrities. So I really don't see what is all the hype from them screamin' teenagers and mums. Urgh. What's worse is if you try and block them away from the celebrities, you'll get psyco, overweight, 'OK' and 'Women's Weekly' reading mothers whoopin' your ass for standing in their way from 'fame' and the superficial characters that are being played by these actors. F$#king get a life people! They have no interest in you. The only reason why they are here is because they get tons of free: really good food, hotels and swag...and well I guess MAYBE some of them are doing it "for the kids".

Urgh I sound so aggro but you would too if you had to go through what I did in the past fourty eight hours, and well this is the only way to vent out my frustratio without getting fired or being snapped back by any of you.

That's all.
